On Saturday the Perquimans County 4-H Shooting Sports Club participated in their first 4-H Eastern Regional 4-H Shooting Sports Tournament! We are so incredibly proud of all of the hard work these youth put into preparing for this day! They did a great job representing Perquimans County. We would especially like to thank our our dedicated volunteers because without them this program would not be possible!

Please join us in congratulating these two Perquimans County 4-H'ers! They have worked so hard and will be advancing to nationals to represent Perquimans County and North Carolina 4-H! Charli will be representing North Carolina 4-H in Hippology
Eva will be representing North Carolina 4-H in Horse Judging. We would also like to thank Sarah Wolfgang who coaches our 4-H horse educational teams! The dedication she has to helping these youth succeed is amazing!

Attending a Norfolk Tides Game was a great way to end our 4-H Summer Programs! We had a great summer filled with lots of learning and fun! We are looking forward to starting fall programing and a great summer next year!

Today FCS Agent Sarah Sowders led our Cloverbud cooking class where youth learned all about baking and making fun desserts by making cake pops, ice cream, and cannoli dip!

On Thursday and Friday we had a two day cooking camp where youth learned kitchen safety, how to make their own tortillas, fajitas, pizza, and much more! It was such a fun time where youth tried new foods and explored different ways to prepare foods! Special thank you to FCS agent Sarah Sowders for leading this camp!

We have two opportunities for chicken shows this year! Ready to raise your own broiler chickens? Join Chowan, Gates, Pasquotank and Perquimans County 4-H for our 4th annual chicken project! Registration is $10 and must be paid to your local Extension Office. Broiler chicks are expected to be available around mid-August. Chicken show will be held on Wednesday, October 14th at the Albemarle Area 4-H Livestock Arena. To view the rules and to register, visit this Google form: go.ncsu.edu/four-feathers-26

Congratulations Liam! Today Liam represented Perquimans County 4-H at State 4-H Presentation Finals where he won gold in the Forestry and Wildlife category with his presentation on Asian Elephants!
