An update to our grocery run days.

Attention all riders;
Effective May 6, we will be running a second van for grocery stops only. Please try to schedule your grocery trips for Tuesday afternoons. This will be a trial. In the month of May, and we hope it works out, and opens up more rides for medical appointments.
So far we have had very few problems, so we are extending our trial period through the month of June.

Due to the current weather conditions, the People Mover will not be in service today, Friday, January 19th. It is my understanding that all riders for today have been contacted. The office is also closed. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Stay warm, and be safe.

INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURES

After learning of a weather event that might impact our service the next day (or longer)….
Afternoon dispatcher will contact riders on the morning schedule for the next day, explaining to them that there is a possibility that we will not be running. Tell riders to look for Derry Township School District on “Delays and Closings” on local TV channels WGAL 8, WHTM 27, WHP 21, and FOX 43. They may also check the School District website at www.hershey.k12.pa.us
Remind these riders of our policy……….2-hour delay or Virtual Learning Day, means we will not run the morning shift.
*The afternoon driver can make the decision whether or not to drive the afternoon shift and notify the afternoon dispatcher of his decision.
*School closure means we will not run the morning or the afternoon shift.
We appreciate your patience during these weather emergencies.

Effective June 1, we will be removing the plexiglass shield that separates the driver and assistant from the passengers. This will allow for better communication with the passengers, and allow the driver more room to move his seat forward or backward. We hope this is not an inconvenience for any of our riders.

FOOD BANK RUNS

Effective March 2nd, we will resume food bank transportation for the Hershey Plaza residents only. These trips will be on the first and third Thursday monthly. Timing will be between 9:00 and 11:30; on a first come basis. Due to new drop off policies imposed by the food bank, we will not be able to transport village riders to the food bank at this time. We are sorry if this is an inconvenience.

People Movers

As a reminder, with winter weather, approaching, our policy is to follow the Derry Township school board. If there is a two hour delay, People Movers will not be running that morning. As far as the afternoon shift, it will be up to the driver to make that decision.

NEW OFFICE
Beginning Monday, July 11, we will be working out of our new office at the leader center and the new Hershey community building. Verizon will be setting up our phone numbers between 8 AM and 10 AM, so there may be a few interruptions in that time period. Please bear with us as we make this move possible.
