Eagle Village Camps kick off this week! ☀️🏕️

For the past month, our incredible summer staff have been preparing for a season that is about so much more than camp activities and outdoor adventures. They are getting ready to welcome children who need encouragement, support, healing, and positive role models.

This dedicated group of young adults includes future educators, criminal justice professionals, social workers, counselors, and leaders who have chosen to spend their summer making a difference in the lives of others. Through extensive training, team-building, and preparation, they have worked hard to create a safe, fun, and meaningful experience for every child who comes through our gates.

As campers arrive this week, we are excited to see new friendships formed, confidence built, challenges overcome, and memories made that will last a lifetime.

This month, we’re reminded that mental health journeys aren’t always easy—but change is always possible. With the right tools, caring relationships, and a safe space to grow, our Eagle Village youth learn how to manage challenges, build resilience, and believe in themselves again.

The Spring 2026 Quest was a huge success!

Our youth stepped outside their comfort zones, embraced challenges, and discovered how to grow through new experiences.

We had a fantastic mix of new and senior staff who worked seamlessly together, creating an unforgettable adventure. From exploring the forest to traveling along Michigan’s beautiful west coast, participants visited lighthouses, went horseback riding, soared down zip lines, played laser tag, and hiked the sand dunes.

Each day centered on a different growth lesson, helping both youth and staff learn how to apply these experiences to real-life situations.

This week, we celebrate the incredible teachers at Lighthouse Academy who go above and beyond every single day for our Eagle Village kids.

Our teachers aren’t just educators—they are mentors, encouragers, role models, and steady sources of support. They meet each student where they are, providing not only academic instruction, but also patience, understanding, and unwavering belief in every child’s potential.

Working with youth who come from a variety of challenging backgrounds takes heart, resilience, and dedication—and the Lighthouse Academy team brings all of that and more. They create a safe, supportive learning environment where students can grow, heal, and succeed.

💙 Foster Care Month: Honoring Eagle Village Foster Parents 💙

May is National Foster Care Month, and at Eagle Village, we are proud to recognize and celebrate the incredible foster parents who open their homes—and their hearts—to children in need.

Foster parents play a life‑changing role for children who have experienced trauma, loss, or instability. Through Eagle Village’s Foster Care & Adoption programs, families across Michigan provide safe, nurturing homes while children and families work toward healing and permanency.

At Eagle Village, foster parents are never alone. They are supported by a dedicated team that provides:

- Licensing and training
- Ongoing case support
- Community events and resources
- The flexibility to choose placements that fit their family

This partnership ensures foster parents have the tools and encouragement they need to succeed—and helps children feel safe, valued, and hopeful during difficult seasons of their lives.

🌟 It Takes a Village to Support Each Youth 🌟

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to stand together, raise awareness, and support the safety and healing of every child. At Eagle Village, our teams work side‑by‑side to make sure each young person feels seen, supported, and cared for.

Here’s how each part of our Village makes a difference:

💙 Clinical Team
They take time to truly understand each youth. Their thoughtful assessments help create trauma‑informed treatment that fits each person’s needs.

🏡 Residential Team
They’re there every single day—providing stability, encouragement, and consistency.

🌄 Experiential Team
Through hands‑on activities, they gently help youth step outside their comfort zones and learn how to face challenges, both real and symbolic.

🌲 Camps & Retreats Team
They partner with families, strengthen connections, and support reunification whenever possible.

🏠 Foster Care & Adoption Team
When reunification isn’t an option, they work carefully to find safe, loving homes where youth can grow and thrive.

🛠️ Support Staff & Food Services
They keep everything running—maintaining spaces, tools, routines, and providing the nutrition that makes healing possible.

💙 This month and every month, we stand for protection, healing, and hope.

Bears for Christ from the University of Central Arkansas spent their Spring Break serving at Eagle Village, and we are incredibly grateful for the impact they made. Their team helped us build, clean, paint, and—just as importantly—spent meaningful time having fun with our youth. It was a full and busy week for everyone involved, and their hard work helped us accomplish so much just in time for our summer camp season.

A few volunteers were so inspired by their experience here that they have chosen to return as camp counselors for our 2026 season. Moments like these remind us how powerful a single visit to our campus can be. When you’re here, you can feel the need, the purpose, and the hope that Eagle Village creates.
