With 15 of our 10u/12u/15u baseball and softball teams still playing in their route 13 tourneys all over southern Illinois we are going to postpone tomorrow’s closing ceremony until next Tuesday or Wednesday (July 2/3) to allow all the opportunity to attend. Good luck to all teams in their route 13 and upcoming city tournaments and we’ll have more details by tomorrow on the exact date of our closing ceremonies!!

All games tonight in Herrin have been rained out.

If your team had a route 13 tournament game scheduled this evening in Herrin, it also cancelled and there will be a new bracket released later this evening

With the high temperature and heat index warnings we want to make sure all are staying safe and are encouraging all to take the following precautions:

-first and foremost bring plenty of water to make sure all are staying hydrated

-If we need to stop the game at any point for water breaks, even mid-inning, please do so

-Plan to take an additional couple minutes between innings to get water and cool down

-catchers will be allowed to keep water jugs near (by the backstop/fence)

-pitchers can ask for time/water (no mound visit will be charged in this instance)

-utilize cool towels or any other precautions as needed to help stay cool

***Coaches please keep an eye on all players and make sure no one is getting overheated

If at any time you a player or coach needs an extra break, please do so. We want all to have fun at their games and tournaments this evening but most importantly want to be certain all stay safe!

Game time is at 7:00

$7 group ticket will be available at the gate. Player tickets include a logo baseball.

Meet behind the ticket box at 6:30. Lauren will then take us down to the field. After we run out with the team for the anthem, please head back up to the ticket box for your logo baseball. Wear your jerseys!

We are in the process of rescheduling some games and hope to have that finalized and to coaches by midweek

That last downpour washed out any chance we were hoping for to play today. All games on all diamonds in Herrin are rained out this evening.

For those with away games, Vienna is rained out, Murphysboro won’t have anyone to check their fields until around 2pm, and Benton didn’t get quite as much rain as other towns did so they’re assessing fields and will make a decision by around 2pm as well

All games on all diamonds in Herrin are rained out today. This is includes the Champions League.

Games in Anna and Eldorado are also rained out for those teams supposed to play there this evening

Reminder: HJBL 12u Baseball Allstar/travel team tryouts will be this evening at 8pm on D2. There will be a second tryout by the end of this week with the exact time and date TBA for those unable to attend this evening. The team is scheduled to play in at least 4 tourneys over the next 6-8 weeks (some local and all within a 2 hour radius) as well as some mid-week or weekend double headers.
