Thank You Sons of The American Legion Squadron #170 !

This afternoon, Sons of the American Legion Squadron #170 delivered Christmas Care packages to the veterans in the Eureka, SD nursing home. There are eight veterans residing in the Eureka facility, including two World War II Veterans who are both over 100 years old!!! We are glad we can honor their service with a little bit of Christmas cheer during this holiday season!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

The Free Will Offering Dinner will now be Monday, Nov. 10th 5pm - 7pm.

Good morning! Due to the awesome Wolverine victory this past Thursday night and the SDHSAA scheduled SoDak 16 match between the Wolverines and Burke on Veterans Day, the following changes have been made to the Veterans Day activities:
1) The Veteran's Day events which were to be held on the afternoon and evening of November 11th have now been moved to Monday, November 10th.
2) The new schedule/timeline of events will be as follows:
Monday, November 10 - The 6-12 student military/veteran displays will be held at the Community Center from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm. The Veteran's Day Open House with coffee, cookies, bars, munchies, door prizes and military display viewing will also take place from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Monday, November 10. Finally, the Veteran's Day Free-Will Donation Beef Sandwich Meal will also take place on Monday, November 10th with serving taking place from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Important!!! The actual Veteran's Day Program will still take place on Tuesday, November 11th @ 10:00 AM at the Herreid School Gymnasium!!!

Many thanks to Sons of The American Legion Squadron #170 for taking on Military Rights (21 gun salute) Memorial Day Project. We visited 18 cemeteries before noon and put on a Memorial Day program, too. Many thanks to those who came out to support us including the Herreid Auxiliary - American Legion Post 170. May God bless America and those who made the ultimate sacrifices!

Santa Clause Day is rescheduled to Sunday, December 18th at the Herreid Community Center. Open skating from 1 pm to 2:30 pm; drawing for ham and turkey giveaways at 2:45 pm ... then Santa Clause makes appearance at 3 PM!!
