Making a difference since 2005, the NWFCU Foundation has been a community leader dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of children through its programs. The NWFCU Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity, was established to help promote and manage Northwest Federal Credit Union's charitable activities and programs which reflect the interest of our membership and the local community -- extendin

g beyond the service and saving of the credit union to focus on scholarships, mentoring and youth outreach programs. We have also participated, and continue to participate in numerous charitable programs, including:

•Coordinated food, toy, clothing and school supply drives to assist local families in need by collecting items and raising over $22,000.
•Volunteered over 2,220 hours of time mentoring elementary school students.
•Delivered over 2,500 meals through the Meals of Wheels program.
•Gave back to several local Fairfax, VA communities on
•Community outreach

The NW Foundation was honored to attend McNair Upper Elementary’s Partner & Volunteer Recognition Breakfast and celebrate the incredible community that supports their students every day. The Foundation is proud to partner with McNair by providing resources like healthy school snacks, helping ensure students have what they need to stay nourished and ready to learn.
Guests were treated to amazing performances by McNair’s band, choir, and strings students—a true showcase of the talent and dedication within the school community!
As the school year comes to a close, we’re grateful for the opportunity to support schools like McNair. It’s been an impactful year for the Foundation as we continue working to ensure every student has the resources they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

At the NWFCU Foundation, we believe access to books is just the beginning. Through our N.E.E.D.S. Project, Dogwood Elementary installed a book vending machine serving 633 students and the results have been remarkable. One struggling first grader set a personal goal to earn a book through hard work and positive behavior. He not only succeeded, he became an inspiration to his classmates. These kits were delivered to 15 schools and community organizations, helping ensure students have access to essential personal care items that support confidence, dignity, and readiness to learn. Just days before graduation, nearly 30 Herndon High School students are working hard to cross the finish line. To help students get caught up and stay on track for graduation, school counselors launched Saturday School sessions focused on academic support, encouragement, and accountability during these final weeks. Efforts like this are so important because graduation can change the trajectory of a student’s future.
The NW Foundation was proud to partner with Herndon High School and Chick-fil-A North Point Village to provide lunch for students during their final Saturday School before graduation day.

A special end-of-year moment for one of our amazing mentoring matches.
As students head into summer break, our mentors are helping send them off with encouragement, support, and a few surprises along the way. Leilani recently celebrated her mentee with a certificate and a backpack filled with goodies to recognize all of her hard work this school year.
We are so grateful for mentors like Leilani who show up for students every day across many schools in our community. Although she recently began mentoring, it is already clear that a special bond is forming.
Thank you to all of our mentors for the time, care, and consistency you pour into students throughout the year.

Exactly two weeks until the Cars & Coffee Car Show at Northwest Federal Credit Union Headquarters in Herndon organized by Craftsman Auto Care. The NW Foundation is proud and excited to be the charitable beneficiary of this exciting community event. Join us on Saturday, June 13 for a morning of cars, coffee, raffles, community, and family-friendly fun. Proceeds from vehicle registration will directly support local students through programs including weekend meal bags, hygiene kits, scholarships, school supplies, and other educational initiatives serving youth across our community.
