: Kai Tran ⚖️✨

As a 7th grader, Kai Tran is already exploring a future in law through the Public Service Career Cluster.

Kai hopes to become a Criminal Defense Attorney and is drawn to a career that combines critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and helping people navigate complex situations.

An FCCLA Career Investigation project gave Kai the opportunity to research the profession, conduct interviews, and explore both the responsibilities and challenges attorneys face. After presenting the project at the state level, Kai earned a Gold Medal.

FCCLA has also strengthened Kai’s confidence as a Chapter Officer and provided opportunities to practice leadership, teamwork, organization, research, and public speaking.

The experience has shown Kai that career exploration does not have to wait until high school or college. The skills needed for the future can start developing right now. ❤️

: Lauren Field 🧠✨

Lauren Field is combining entrepreneurship, service, and innovation to pursue a future within the Human Services Career Cluster.

Through FCCLA, Lauren co-led FinanceForFuture, an initiative designed to make financial literacy more accessible to young people. The project has grown to reach more than 4,300 students, develop national partnerships, and inspire a published educational children’s book, The Price of Family.

Taking the project from an idea to a large-scale initiative taught Lauren how to manage budgets, build partnerships, lead a team, track results, and develop solutions centered on people.

Those experiences connect directly to an ambitious future goal: becoming a psychiatrist specializing in pharmacogenomics and eventually building a more integrated model of mental health care.

FCCLA helped Lauren recognize that leadership within Human Services can extend beyond traditional pathways and combine empathy, medicine, entrepreneurship, and innovation to serve others. ❤️

Angel Camarena knows exactly where the future is headed: back to the Family and Consumer Sciences classroom.

The Kentucky FCCLA State Vice President of Peer Education plans to become a high school FCS educator, a goal inspired by the educators and FCCLA Chapter Advisers who demonstrated how powerful education can be in preparing students for their families, careers, and communities.

FCCLA is already giving Angel opportunities to practice those future skills. From mentoring Chapter members through their Competitive Events to promoting National Programs and leading members across Kentucky, each experience strengthens communication, planning, leadership, and teaching abilities.

Even through multiple FCCLA Chapter Adviser transitions, Angel remained committed to the chapter, learned to locate resources independently, and helped provide consistency for fellow members.

Through the Education and Training Career Cluster, Angel is preparing to one day provide future FCS students with the same opportunities to learn, lead, and grow. ❤️

For Antonio Hernandez, a future in Hospitality and Tourism has been years in the making.

Growing up around a family-owned Mexican restaurant sparked an early interest in food service and entrepreneurship. Since then, Antonio has explored culinary arts, baking, hospitality, and business while developing a dream of one day owning a restaurant, bar and grill, bakery, or another food-service business.

FCCLA has helped strengthen the communication, leadership, problem-solving, and sales skills needed to make that dream possible. Conferences have also introduced Antonio to new ideas, trends, and opportunities within the industry.

The growth has extended far beyond career preparation. After once being the member sitting quietly in the corner of chapter meetings, Antonio stepped outside of a comfort zone, attended the National Leadership Conference, became more confident, and eventually rose to serve as Chapter President.

That is what it looks like when career preparation and leadership grow together. ❤️

Sophia Knetter has turned FCCLA experiences into a pathway toward business, entrepreneurship, and the Financial Services Career Cluster.

From developing a business plan through an FCCLA Competitive Event to serving as a Chapter Treasurer, working as a student teller at a local credit union, and becoming Wisconsin FCCLA Vice President of Development, Sophia has continued putting financial and leadership skills into action.

One of the biggest lessons came while organizing Youth Emerging Entrepreneurs Day. After initially postponing the event because of low registration, Sophia kept going. The rescheduled event welcomed more than 80 students and included entrepreneur speakers, networking opportunities, and $450 in scholarships.

That experience reinforced an important entrepreneurial lesson: success is not about avoiding setbacks. It is about learning, adapting, and trying again.

Sophia hopes to one day own a business and continue creating opportunities for others along the way. ❤️

For Emma Gaffney, FCCLA helped turn a passion for fashion into a vision for the future.

The South Dakota FCCLA Member first discovered the impact of sharing original designs through an FCCLA STAR Event. Earning a Silver Medal only motivated Emma to keep creating, experimenting with colors and patterns, and developing clothing designed to help people feel confident.

Through FCCLA, Emma has gained hands-on experience, built connections with fashion designers and small businesses, and even found opportunities that contributed to a summer internship and current job.

The goal? To build a fashion design business offering affordable, sustainable, and eco-friendly clothing created for people of all backgrounds and body types.

Emma is showing how the Arts and Design Career Cluster can turn creativity into a career with purpose. ❤️

Yesterday, National Be A Teacher Day™ sparked a powerful conversation at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., as student leaders representing FCCLA, SkillsUSA, FBLA, and the National FFA Organization took the national stage to answer one critical question:

Who will teach the next generation?

Through personal stories, powerful perspectives, and meaningful discussions about the future of education, these student leaders reminded the nation that the solution to the teacher shortage begins with inspiring today's students.

And the impact extends far beyond Washington, D.C. 🇺🇸

🎉 107 EVENTS AND COUNTING! Schools, organizations, and communities nationwide have joined the movement, more than DOUBLING last year's participation! From classrooms to communities across the country, National Be A Teacher Day™ is creating opportunities to celebrate educators, explore teaching careers, and inspire the next generation.

The celebration may be over, but the movement is just getting started.
