We donated lunch to 70 residents at the Embry Rucker Community Shelter in Reston, VA on Tuesday, 4/21/20.
The Shelter is in need of the following items due to a rise in the number of residents due to the current situation.
Food Pantry: dry beans, lentils, rice, oatmeal, cooking oil, eggs, milk, cleaning products, grocery gift cards.
Shelter: Adult sweatshirts and sweatpants (size S to 4XL), new men’s and women’s underwear/t-shirts/sports bras., cleaning and disinfecting products and spray bottles, grocery gift cards, Target gift cards, full size toiletry product.

AIMS, through our NGO partner, NAMCO donated about 1500 Surgical masks, 165 N95 masks, 35 500 ml Sanitizer bottles to KMT Trust Hospital in Kayalpatnam , Tirunelveli District in Tamilnadu. This will protect 1500 patients and 55 Service Providers.

Phase-3 Gaja Cyclone Relief emergency supplies distribution to the following NINE villages in Muthupet Block in Thiruvarur District over 3 days and covered 650 families. Approx cost - $ 4000

Phase 2 of Gaja Relief:
Relief kits were distributed to 300 families in Karuppampulam Vadakadu, Andarkadu, Pannal, Thagattur , Voimedu (distribution tomorrow) today. These are villages where we have our Student Development Centers.
Each kit costs approx Rs 550 ( Candles, Matches, Mat, Sugar, Tea, Jaggery, Rice, Dhal, Oil and Peanut bars). We will be moving on to mid and long term relief soon.

Thanks to all those who donated so far for Gaja Relief efforts.
As Phase 1 - providing immediate and short term relief to the affected, AIMS through our local partner, NAMCO
distributed materials to 200 families in Ayakkaranpulam village in Nagappatinam District today.
Tomorrow they will be distributed to 150 more families.
Our volunteers and one of our Board Members , Mahendiran Periasamy, are in the area and assessing for providing mid / long term relief.
