Today starts the KY Forest Fire Season. These are pulled straight from the KRS regarding safe burning this time of year. At night, winds die down and humidity rises making for a lower risk of a fire growing beyond containment and endangering homes and lives.

Any fire, even if following these criteria, must have a sober adult to monitor them and a way to extinguish the fire if it gets out of hand.

As always, dial 911 to report suspected fires in Christian County!

Judge Gilliam has rescinded the burn ban effective immediately due to the rain received and in the forecast

Christian County is under a No Burn Order or total burn ban. No outdoor burning is permitted including camping fires or smoldering stumps.

Please report any suspected fire during this time by calling 911. Current weather conditions make spread of fire extremely likely and dangerous.

Applicants must be 18 years or older, be able to pass a basic background check, and possess a valid Driver's License.
