Community Update – Lake Greenwood Leflore Dock Reopened

We are pleased to announce that the dock at Lake Greenwood Leflore has been repaired, refreshed, and is now reopened for use!

For the safety of our members and their guests, the dock was temporarily closed while deteriorated decking and several of the supporting joists were replaced. The repairs have now been completed, and the dock is once again ready for everyone to enjoy.

There is still a small area of washout at the top of the stairs leading to the dock that will need to be addressed. Please use caution and watch your step when accessing the dock until that is addressed.

We also plan to apply a protective wood sealer in a couple of months, after the new pressure-treated lumber has had time to dry sufficiently to properly absorb the sealer.

Thank you for your patience while these repairs were being completed.

Our new metal lake sign also got installed to replace the wood one that was rotting as well.

Now both the sign and dock should last the community many more years.

While Chickasaw Bluff Lakes will not be hosting our Annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks this year, we wanted to help make it easier for everyone to find other ways to celebrate.

We've updated our website with a collection of local Independence Day events, including fireworks displays and celebrations from around the area, along with links to additional information. Instead of searching multiple websites and pages, you can find many of the local opportunities all in one place.

We hope this helps you plan a fun and safe Independence Day with family and friends. Happy Fourth of July!

UPCOMING EVENTS CBL will not be hosting our annual Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Show this year, but we have tried to provide dates and links to other local events in the surrounding areas below for Independence Day Fun. ***Community Update – Lake Greenwood Leflore Dock Temporarily Closed***

For the safety of our residents and their guests, the dock at the Lake Greenwood Leflore dam has been temporarily closed due to several deteriorated and damaged boards.

At the Board Meeting held on May 18th, the Board voted to approve repairs to the dock. Work is expected to begin within the next month.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while these repairs are completed, and we look forward to reopening the dock as soon as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support of our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Annual Meeting this year. We appreciate those who took the time to come out and stay involved in our community.

The terms of four current Board Members expired this year, and each was re-nominated to continue serving. The Board for the coming year will remain the same: Amy Gordon - President, Nick Stanford - Vice President, Donna Holloway, Delania Alexander, Diane Peters, Tambre Wells, David Hatton, Chris Snell, and Sarah Snell - Secretary / Treasurer.

Financial reports were presented and showed that our community continues to improve with dues collection. Currently, only 16% of lots are past due, and collection efforts remain ongoing, including pursuing past-due balances through DeSoto County Justice Court when necessary. We are also pleased to report that over $6,000 in past-due assessments were collected during the last fiscal year.

The FY2027 Budget was approved, and the Board also provided a recap of work completed over the past year, including efforts to address issues with the lakes through treatments and the stocking of carp. As we move into spring, new w**d growth is emerging, and management efforts will continue.

There was also discussion regarding community events. Unfortunately, due to low support and other circumstances, we will not be hosting the July 4th celebration this year. However, we hope to bring it back next year. We are happy to share that we do plan to host the Halloween Hayride-N-Treat again this year.

Lastly, we ask everyone to remain diligent and vigilant in watching over your property and looking out for your neighbors as we all work together to maintain the safety of our community.

Thank you again for your support and involvement.
