Thank you City of Hernando, MS – Government for recognizing June 7-13 as National Garden Clubs Inc. National Garden Week by issuing a proclamation for the Hernando Civic Garden Club!
At last night’s Board meeting, Mayor Chip Johnson and the Board of Aldermen (wearing their new Farmers Market t-shirts) approved a Proclamation for National Garden Week (June 7-13). The City of Hernando proudly recognizes the important role gardeners play in enriching our community and our lives. Alderwoman Natalie Lynch is an active member of the Hernando Civic Garden Club (pictured below). We highlight the following two statements as noteworthy:
“WHEREAS, gardeners demonstrate a deep commitment to cultivating the earth's beauty and resources through the planting of seeds, the careful tending of plants, and the abundance yielded by their efforts; and
WHEREAS, gardening enriches our lives by adding beauty, splendor, fragrance, and nourishment through the cultivation of herbs, vegetables, foliage, and flowers…”
We are grateful for all those who dedicate their time and passion to gardening — helping make Hernando more beautiful, vibrant, and connected to the natural world!
