Maddox Foundation

Maddox Foundation Signature investments creating an indelible legacy Maddox Foundation was founded in 1968. Maddox Foundation moved to Hernando, Mississippi in 1999.

It was Dan and Margaret’s intent to serve the broadest possible charitable purposes, and to meet needs close to their hearts whenever and wherever they might find them. During their lifetimes, Dan and Margaret Maddox made substantial investments in charitable organizations. It was chartered as a Mississippi nonprofit corporation and began making investments in Northwest Mississippi in 2001. The Fo

undation led a Computers in the Classroom initiative that resulted in Internet-connected computers being placed in all public education classrooms across the state. In 2002, the Foundation acquired the Mississippi RiverKings professional hockey team as a program related investment and operates the team as a charitable asset for the community. The Foundation continues to support youth sports and other nonprofit activities and organizations through its program-related investments in the team. The Foundation worked with local community leaders to establish the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, and has made a $10 million grant commitment over 10 years to challenge the building of its endowment funds and support its operations.

Conger Park Playground will always be near and dear to the heart of the Maddox Foundation. We are honored and blessed to give the children of Hernando a safe, fun, and accessible place to play and grow.

The play area was close to being condemned in 2019 when the Maddox Foundation stepped in to provide the funds for a rebuild.
