Rev. Robert Tipton Jr. lives near Southaven, Mississippi, close to a new xAI data center. It’s powered by massive, polluting gas turbines. We're working with the NAACP to fight back in court —including Rev. Tipton who is president of the DeSoto County NAACP branch.​

For 30 years, Rev. Tipton has lived with sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease affecting lungs and other organs. He worries about xAI’s smog pollution – for himself and his community. ​

The community didn’t get a chance to say no to the turbines. When Rev. Tipton learned they were operating without permits, he decided to fight back against xAI, a company recently acquired by SpaceX. ​

He hopes the litigation will force xAI to follow the law and protect Southaven residents from dangerous pollution. “I want to see that air pollution guidelines are followed to the T,” Rev. Tipton says. “I want the truth out.”
