Today , October 15th, is White Cane Day. A day that we promote the independence and importance of the white cane for our blind and visually impaired travelers.

The mission of White Cane Day, is to educate the world about blindness and how the blind and visually impaired can live and work independently, to celebrate the abilities and successes achieved by blind people in a sighted world, and to honor the many contributions being made by the blind and visually impaired.

All 50 states have specific laws to protect our white cane pedestrians. Drivers must yield the right of way to pedestrians carrying a white cane or using a guide dog.

This is the Community Foundation of Western PA & Eastern OH GIVING WEEK

This is NEW for KBA to participate…and we need your help. For donations during that week, we can receive MATCHING funds in general and also “giving challenges” money from the Foundation. We have set a goal of $8,000 for our transportation program, which faces rising gas prices, and vehicle costs.

You can go online to make a donation to help support Keystone:

Every donation counts!!!
