Welcome to the Col. McGavock page. We are Camp # 1713 of the Tennessee Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans. The Camp was formed in 1995. Our camp is named for the Colonel of the 10th Tennessee Volunteer Infantry Regiment, also known as the "Rebel Sons of Erin". This regiment was made up primarily of men of Irish birth and Irish ancestry. McGavock was killed on May 12, 1863 while leadin

g his men in the Battle of Raymond, Mississippi. McGavock's remains are buried in Mount Olivet cemetery located in Nashville Tennessee. Our camp meets at 6:30 pm, on the third Thursday of each month except January at the Buchanan House located at 2918 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, TN.

Coming up in October, one of the biggest and best Civil War reenactments this year. The Battle of Stones River put on by the Atlanta Campaign people. The location is just South of Lebanon TN. Union, Confederate encampment and sutler with food and drink you can visit. Over 40 cannons, large calvry units with hundreds of infantry. You don't want to miss this even and it's so close to us here in Nashville.
