Grandparents Day is coming up this Sunday and we want to know - are (or were) your grandparents involved in the VFW or Auxiliary?

Did you join the VFW under the eligibility of your grandfather or grandmother? Was your grandmother an active Auxiliary member when you were a child? Is your grandfather currently an officer in your Auxiliary? How have your grandparents inspired you to volunteer with the VFW Auxiliary?

Feel free to post your answers in the comments below! We would love to share them on social media this Sunday. If you have a photo you would like to include with your submission, please email it to us at [email protected] with the subject line Grandparents' Day no later than Friday, September 5, at 3:00 p.m. central time. Be sure to include your Auxiliary number and Department!

March 1, 2026: VFW Scout of the Year (recognition award, not monetary)
March 31, 2026: VFW Auxiliary Illustrating America
March 31, 2026: VFW Auxiliary Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest
March 31, 2026: VFW Auxiliary 3-Dimensional Patriotic Art Contest
April 30, 2026: The VFW's “Sport Clips Help A Hero” Scholarship - fall semester

Please promote these scholarships, contests and awards, which benefit children as young as five through adults continuing their education beyond high school.
