HRS just completed an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B) Course. Thirteen students successfully completed the program. Congratulations to each one!
Our Course’s involve about 250 hours from the student. This includes classroom lecture and ‘Hands-on’ skills, along with at least 32 hours Clinical Time with local Ambulance Services and Emergency Dept. experience.
Students participating in classes drove in from Gladstone, Perronville, Crystal Falls, Stephenson, Carney, Wilson & Powers. We began this course Sept 26, 2011 and wrapped up March 31, 2012. Once students pass their National Registry testing they will be able to License as EMT’s to practice in Michigan, or any State of their choice.
Two of the students from this recent class currently reside within our service area & are currently members of Hermansville Rescue Squad. Plus, we have offers from some folks from neighboring areas hoping they might be able to help out on HRS!
Instructors for this course were: Sharline Corrigan, Dan Hammerberg, and Larry King. Along with these folks we had regular participation in training and evaluating students from members of HRS & Mid-County Rescue squad; this program is successful because of efforts of the whole team!
