We also foster and rehome adoptable cats/kittens. In 2010 the City of Hermann Board of Aldermen began discussing a plan to trap and kill the estimated 1000 homeless cats in Hermann. In response, a group of concerned citizens formed Ferals In Peril, Inc., a 501 (C)(3) nonprofit group, to humanely lower the homeless cat population through a trap/neuter/release program. Yearly we do an average of 200
spays and neuters and find homes for approx 100 . Today there are very few homeless cats in the Hermann area. We receive no money from any government entity. Our work is done with donations. Our members help in a variety of ways; trapping, providing temporary shelter, transporting cats, designing signs, fund raising, record keeping, and watching for new homeless cats throughout the Hermann area. Please join us at our meetings held in the Hermann Library at 6:30 pm on the first Tuesday of each month.
