Our Pie Bake Off and Silent Auction are coming up on Saturday, Sept. 12. Over the next several days, we'll be posting the beautiful art that will be up for bid as part of the Silent Auction. Remember, the event at our Archives & Records Center, 315 Schiller St. in Hermann, runs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., when the silent auction closes.

Come buy a pie and make a bid--you can show your good taste and satisfy your taste buds at the same time!

We're just two weeks away from our annual pie bake off! Pies must be delivered in disposable pans to our Archives building in Hermann from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or our Museum in Owensville from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11. Pies will be judged and prizes awarded in fruit pie and cream pie categories. No savory pies, please. Private judging will happen that evening.

Then on Saturday, Sept. 12, we'll announce our winners along with hosting a sale of selected historical merchandise and silent auction at our Archives, 315 Schiller St., in Hermann. See the photo for some of the items that will be available on Saturday. Make plans to stop by between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to purchase a pie for $25 and check out our sale and silent auction items. The sale and silent auction will close at 2 p.m.

All proceeds benefit the historical society.

Thank you to everyone who attended our presentation yesterday at the Scenic Regional Library- Hermann Branch. The Archives team of Lois Kruse and Angie Walter shared the MANY resources available to help you research your ancestors, from a county cemetery record book, to naturalization records, to indexes of county newspapers, and much, much more!

The Archives staff are truly the “A” team—see what we did there 🤓—when it comes to genealogy research. They are open Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at 315 Schiller St. in Hermann.
