REMINDER: Free PPE Kits are available at the Herculaneum Fire Department 151 Riverview Plaza Drive. Kits contain 50 disposable masks and a bottle of hand sanitizer.

Kits are available between 8am - 4pm (Monday-Friday) at the fire house. If you would like contactless pickup - call (636) 475-3080 and provide your name. We will leave the kit by the front door for you to pickup!

Beginning February 20, we’ll be hosting a free, public class focused on disaster preparedness and response. Students will learn practical emergency response skills as well as about the structure of Jefferson County’s public safety system. Specific sessions will cover:

• Personal Disaster Preparedness (2/20)
• Fire Suppression (2/27)
• First Aid (3/05 & 03/12)
• Search & Rescue Techniques (03/19)
• Terrorism (03/26)
• CERT & Public Safety Response Organization (04/02)
• Disaster Psychology (04/09)
• Final Exercise (04/16)

Sessions will be taught by subject matter experts from a variety of emergency response agencies covering the County. Each portion of the course will be held on a Thursday beginning at 6:30 PM and ending no later than 9:30 PM.

On Thursday, October 17 at 10:17 am, the Great Central US Shakeout earthquake drill will occur.

Go to the web site www.ShakeOut.org to learn about earthquake preparedness and safety.

Sign up as an individual or organization and take part the largest earthquake drill on Thursday, October 17 at 10:00 17 am.

Needing volunteers for the 26th Annual Jeffco Fire Engine Rally on Saturday, September 28 at the Herculaneum City Park 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Need volunteers to assist with the operation of the fire safety house and helping the kids escape a "fire".

A 20-hour FREE CERT Training Class will be held at the Jefferson County Emergency Management building beginning on Thursday, August 1.

The class will continue for eight consecutive weeks and end on Thursday, September 19.

The emergency management building is located at 1409 Industrial Drive in Herculaneum.

Registration is required and is open to those individuals 18 years and older.

To register, call the emergency management office at 636 797-5381.
No prior emergency preparedness training required.

The event will be held at the Herculaneum City Park, 776 Joachim Avenue, Herculaneum.

The event will start at 5:30 PM and end at 8:00 PM.

Open to the public! Free of charge!

Children will receive glow-in-the-dark necklaces or bracelets and CANDY! Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available for all! Come enjoy a bonfire!

The Herculaneum Fire Department reminds everyone about the Great Central US "Shakeout" Drill on Thursday, October 18 at 10:18 am.

Everyone should be prepared in the event of an earthquake in the area of Herculaneum.

The 2018 Great Central U.S. “ShakeOut” earthquake drill takes place at 10:18 a.m. on Thursday, October 18. Participants will practice the “Drop, Cover, Hold On” technique: DROP to your hands and knees; COVER your head and neck with your hands and arms under a table or desk if you can; and HOLD ON until the shaking stops.
