It was a good day for the Henry Yacht Club, we have an awesome group of members! A lot of thought, vision, engineering and hard work has gone into the new City of Henry docks. Next week, we will be connecting the ramp and the fingers to the main dock on the first phase of the new harbor. As Commodore of the HYC, I would like to thank and recognize several organizations, companies and people responsible for this progress. First and foremost, the City of Henry, Mayor Jeff Bergfeld, Henry City Council, and Henry Public Works Department. Next, all the members of HYC, Dock Committee members Doug Johnson, Rodney LeQuia, Tim Lannon, Matt Ehrat, Chad Hartwig, Grey Thompson, Tim Masching, Brandon Cox, Hayden Gerdes, Dave Iverson, Mike Miller, & Logan Henaday, plus additional dock workers Ken Rogers, Joline LeQuia, & Brooklynn Thompson. Last but not least, a shout out to our lunch ladies Kimberly Hartwig, Melissa Thompson, Joyce Wood, & JoBeth Stanbary. Thank you also to Hartwig Trucking, Ozinga, Greybrooke Trucking, & Stamps Body Shop. I’m very proud of what we’ve done so far and look forward to Phase 2! ⚓️

⚓️🩵 Have you driven by the marina? Our guys floated one section of the new docks yesterday in order to mark the locations for the new spud poles. Superior will be installing those in the coming days and then the rest can be brought in! (And in case you’re wondering, the tops of the dock are not installed yet, if you feel like getting a good workout and want to help carry the concrete slabs that will go on top when the time comes, just comment below!! 💪🏻)

To say that our club members have put in a lot of work to clean up and reconfigure the used docks purchased by the City of Henry would be the understatement of the year! The dredging at the marina is done and dock installation begins tomorrow! (Note: It will take a few weeks due to spud and anchor poles, but... PROGRESS!!!)

PROGRESS! The dredging is coming along and the reconfiguration of the docks is nearly done. Huge thanks to everyone that has put in countless hours to help make this happen. We hope to have them floating by the end of the month. 💙⚓️🩵

Mother Nature (and a couple other factors) put a slight delay in the dredging operations at the marina, but the City says work is now planned to begin on Tuesday, May 27. In the meantime, the docks intended for the harbor were transported from Lake of the Ozarks to Henry and are currently awaiting some TLC in the form of pressure washing and then... installation! We can't wait!!
