Hands of Rescue was formed and chartered with the AMA in late 2013. We are incorporated in the state of Virginia as Hands of Rescue, LLC. The following is an excerpt from our constitution that serves as the basis of our Mission Statement and the purpose of our organization. Our Mission and Purpose
Hands of Rescue is a neutral riding organization dedicated to promoting motorcycle safety, under the
guidelines of the AMA and Motorcycle Safety Foundation, with the additional commitment to train our members and anyone in the community to be qualified to act under the applicable Good Samaritan laws to provide basic First Aid and CPR to anyone in need. We operate under five tenants or “fingers” of:
Country (to assist and serve our fellow man);
Courage (to go where help is needed);
Respect (to respect all others regardless of gender, race, politics, sexual preference or religious beliefs as well as organizations or clubs which one is associated with or what type of motorcycle you may ride);
Honor (honor our flag and country and our fellow man);
Charity (to give of ourselves both physically and monetarily (monetary and physical giving based on the individual's ability to do so), in assisting organizations within our community that are deemed beneficial to our community, up to but not limited to such organizations that assist children with medical needs; Breast Cancer association; assisting our disabled or injured Vets; adults with physical, mental or medical disabilities and downed bikers). To do no harm and assisting mankind when help is needed. We believe strongly in supporting our military and first responder personnel, both active and retired, and working within our community to support charitable efforts on behalf of our military and those citizens unable to take care of themselves due to mental or physical disabilities. We make no discrimination against riders and non-riders due to gender, race, politics, sexual preference, or religious beliefs. To Respect all others, to Ride safely, Enjoy the beauty that this Country has to offer, and to have Enjoyment and Fun while doing so.
