Join Dr. D. Pulane Lucas, CEO of Policy Pathways and mother of Stanley Wilson Jr., for the 3rd Angelversary of Stanley. Hosted at Loyola Law School, this event honors and celebrates the life of Stanley while calling for accountability within the criminal justice system.

Following Stanley’s death while in the custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, his name was omitted from county records—despite legal requirements to include it. This troubling omission is not an isolated case; it has happened to countless others across the country.

In this event, you will hear from speakers and panelists who will discuss the lack of transparency in in-custody deaths, the impact of mass incarceration, and the failures of the system that contribute to increasing deaths during incarceration.

Congratulations to the 2024 Summer Academy for Policy Leadership and Public Service Cohort! This spectacular group was the first to have the option of in-person attendance since the program began. They had the opportunity to be taught by policymakers, professors, and other experts in their respective fields. The program was wrapped up with the presentation of the amazing Capstone Projects done by the participants themselves. We are so proud of them and can’t wait to see what they do next!
