The Rotary Club of Henniker serves the communities of Hillsborough, Deering, and Henniker and is one of nearly 33,000 Rotary International Clubs world-wide with a mission of providing humanitarian service, promoting high ethical business and professional standards, increasing communication among peoples, and making our world a better place in which to live. y through Five Avenues of Service. Club Service: Those things that a Rotarian does to help make the running of the Club successful. In the Henniker Rotary Club this includes: publicity, greeters, speakers, prayer, phone tree, membership, fellowship activities, holiday auction, singing, 50/50 raffle, webmaster/roster. Community Service: Urges every Rotarian to participate in all activities, which make the community a better place to live. In the Henniker Rotary Club these include maintaining Amey Brook Park, Adopt-A-Highway, Holiday Wreaths, Grant making, Rabies Clinic, Outdoor Guide, Raffle, Chili Fest. Vocational Service: The promoting of the “ideal of service” throughout the business and professional world. Our club has been developing relationships with John Stark Regional High School and the Hillsboro/Deering High School with scholarship awards and career development speakers and by hosting a 4-Way Speech Contest. International Service: Encourage and foster the advancement of understanding, good will and peace among peoples of the world. The Club has been involved in exchange groups and students, and assisted with disaster relief. Support of the following International Projects: Polio Plus Eradication, Micro lending for Health & Education in Pokuase, Ghana, Safe Passage in Guatemala City and Pure water Projects in Nicaragua and Honduras. Youth Service: Recognizes the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development activities like RYLA, service projects, exchange programs and awarding the Henniker Middle School and Hillsboro/ Deering Middle School “Service Above Self” awards annually. In the past 30 years, Henniker Rotary has raised and distributed over $275,000 to worthy community, regional and international projects. Meetings are held every Thursday morning, 7:30 – 8:30 AM in the Parrish Hall, Congregational Church, 43 Maple Street, Henniker, NH.
