The HOPE Closet had a wonderful trip to Mahnomen Health Center Assisted Living on Friday June 12th. It was our last Spring/Summer trip and we went out with a bang! We helped 28 residents received over 200 items of clothing, books, jewelry, and puzzles. It was a special feeling to be surrounded by residents, caring staff and their family members. Each of us, Dawn, Jen, Hazel, and Kristi took away a special memory that will always be with us.

Its hard to believe the HOPE Closet made 6 trips to area nursing homes, and still managed to have so many nice items "left over". The support of our local rural communities and donations grew with every mile traveled. We were able to donate the remaining clothing to St. Michael's Church in Mahnomen. They will include the donations in a rummage sale in the fall.

Anyone wishing to volunteer or donate to this special program should contact the Thrift Store at 218-861-5700 after August 1st. We are limited in terms of space but not limited in our Dreams.

Hometown HOPE Inc Thrift Store will start taking fall clothing August 1st and resume the traveling HOPE Closet's visits in September.

Hometown HOPE Inc helped 30 residents at the Hawley Senior Living Center on Monday June 8th. The residents were able to select 150 items (clothing, books, or jewelry) thanks to the caring individuals in our community who have donated to our project HOPE Closet. HOPE stands for Helping Others Provide Enrichment. We couldn't do this without the donators, volunteers and nursing home staff that keep this project going. You are Hometown HOPE and truely amazing.

At Hometown Hope, we believe a small town can do big things when neighbors care for neighbors. ❤️

Many people don’t realize that our thrift store helps support our local food pantry and community programs based right here in Hendrum. Every donated item, every volunteer hour, and every purchase helps put food on a neighbor’s table and supports a stronger community of caring.

Today Jen, Dawn and Eileen helped residents shop in a friendly boutique-like atmospher at Viking Manor in Ulen. 135 items were provided to 25 residents. So far, Hometown Hope's program Hope Closet has traveled to 4 local nursing homes to help provide clothing, books, jewelry, and other items to those in need. The friendly caring staff at each nursing home has been a pleasure to work with. Thank you for supporting Hope Closet support a stronger community of caring! (Over 110 residents received over 500 items)

We are truly grassroots. There are no paid board members, and very little paid staff, and mostly volunteers. This organization runs on kindness, hard work, volunteers, donations, and people choosing to shop local with purpose.

So thank you. Thank you for the bags of clothes dropped off, the canned goods, the hours spent sorting, the encouraging words, and every dollar spent in our store. Every penny stays local and helps feed and cloth a neighbor.

You are Hometown Hope. 💚

Hometown HOPE Thrift Store staff and volunteers have enjoyed the great outdoors this week by hosting a Yard Sale on the lawn east of the store and also planting vegetables, flowers and many herbs around our store. Thanks to everyone who "dug" in and helped make our week so special!
(Im afraid to start naming organizations, businesses, customers, volunteers, and our great neighbors in case I forget someone)
