Our program helps survivors of interpersonal violence and their families regain financial independence by helping them re-enter the workforce in a safe and supportive environment. The Dandelion is a local, green eatery committed to helping Safelight clients find and secure lasting employment. The Dandelion focuses on providing locally grown fresh, seasonal food, in a downtown location one block fr

om Main Street, Hendersonville. The rationale behind this social venture is the understanding that by helping our clients succeed at the steps along a career path we help them become successful in their jobs, families will be more likely to be able to pay the bills, and the number of safe, self-sufficient families in our community will increase.

Thanks to Aeroflow, last week we hosted our second fancy sit-down dinner for our shelter residents in the Dandelion Cafe. We created a three course dinner featuring a salad starter, pork tenderloin, herbed chimichurri, pearled couscous and glazed rainbow carrots as the main course, and a mixed oat berry crisp crumble with house made brown sugar cinnamon ice cream for dessert. For the kids we also had chicken nuggets and French fries.

Thank you to Aeroflow Health for making this possible. We are so thankful to provide this service for our clients 💚✨🥰

Meet our Dandelion volunteer Carol Gislason!

Since 2019, this incredible volunteer has been running circles around Dandelion. In a matter of minutes she goes from greeting you at your table, delivering food to another table, and helping to wash the dishes, all while making sure you feel taken care of and making you laugh. No, really, she's funny- Just read her shirt 😉
She's present in her intentions, cares deeply and really shows us endless support. Come in on a Friday for lunch and thank her for us, we can't say it enough!💙🌟
