The bee mural ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony is scheduled to take place this Thursday, May 13 from 10:30 - 11:00 AM in front of the mural wall (Azalea Parking Lot). All are invited to attend. Bee City USA - Hendersonville, Hands On! Children's Museum, and The Good of the Hive are grateful to all of those involved, whether from start of the project in 2019, throughout the challenges of 2020, or during the final phase this spring. We look forward to celebrating the mural's completion with our local community who made it all possible through financial donations, in-kind contributions, and countless hours of volunteer time. Thanks again to our many donors and over 60 sponsors - https://handsonwnc.org/hivesponsors!

As part of the Love Hendo Saturday event tomorrow, be sure to stop by the bee mural between 10 AM and 4 PM to see the finishing touches being added by Matt Willey, artist and founder of The Good of the Hive. HVL Bee City USA volunteers will be onsite distributing FREE pollinator-friendly seed packets and information. Hands On! Children's Museum volunteers will offer art and craft projects for kids, including making "bee hotels" for solitary native bees. Vendors will have items such as local honey, pollinator garden plants (yes, we'll have milkweeds!), The Good of the Hive prints and T-shirts, cloth butterfly wings to wear, etc. for sale.
*The bee mural site is located at Hands On! Children’s Museum building (in the Azalea Public Parking Lot), between N. Main Street and King Street, facing Third Ave. E. in downtown Hendersonville.
