Hickman County Organization The Hickman County Organization's purpose is to promote friendly and lasting fellowship among African It was in 1948 that Mrs.

Davis, with the assistance of the late attorney W.S. Walker founded the Hickman County Organization, whose purpose was to promote friendly and lasting fellowships among African American Hickman countians locally and elsewhere. From the beginning she instilled in the group the importance of fellowship and working together and serving together in times of joy and sorrow. The organization encouraged

African American students from Hickman County and now including Davidson County to pursue a higher education after finishing High School through the Adkisson-Dabney now the Adkisson-Dabney-Mcgill scholarship award.
