Help spread the word, please.

If you "donate" items that you know we don't accept, you are not supporting ACTS. Maybe you don't think of it this way, but your actions say that we don't do enough, and you are supporting the ministry you think we should be.

Acts is a Soup Kitchen, not a thrift store or a pawn shop. We are not Habitat for Humanity. If our clients cannot eat it, and if it cannot be used to clean our facility, it needs to go somewhere else. We do not accept donations of clothes, furniture, books, children's toys, movies, etc.

Some of these items could be a wonderful blessing to someone in need, and we will try to point you in the right direction, but we do not accept these items. We do not have the people, time or resources to sort or distribute them. When these items are left on our doorstep, we throw them away.

So not only is the "donation" wasted, but our dumpster fills more quickly and now we are pressured to pay extra money for additional pickups.

ACTS cannot be everything to everyone, and so we are committed to our mission to feed folks and tell them about Jesus. We do not exist to absorb a person's unwanted items after cleaning out the attic or garage.

If you have questions about something, please reach out.

We are so grateful for all the support we receive from neighbors and community members, but I'm begging, please stop dropping off items that we don't use, don't need and don't want. This is not support, but a burden.
