🏆 2026 VETERAN BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

The Makafigueroa Family Foundation (TMF) is incredibly proud to recognize Ronald Pratt of Angler's Fishing Apparel as our 2026 Veteran Business of the Year and announce our $850 sponsorship in support of his journey to the 2027 Nevada Premier Sportsman Expo!

To us, supporting veteran-owned businesses means more than providing financial assistance. It means believing in the people behind the vision, honoring the sacrifices they've made, and helping turn years of hard work, faith, patience, and determination into meaningful opportunities.

Ron embodies that spirit.

His passion for the outdoors, his entrepreneurial ambition, and his desire to build something that reaches beyond himself are exactly what we love to see in our veteran business community.

During our conversation today, Ron shared just how much this opportunity means to him. He's preparing to step into an arena alongside established names in the outdoor industry, and he's approaching it with excitement, confidence, and a determination to grow.

That's the kind of courage and entrepreneurial spirit we believe deserves to be celebrated.

Ron, your patience and perseverance have brought you to this moment, and we're honored to play a small part in what comes next.

We look forward to watching Angler's Fishing Apparel grow, seeing the connections you make, and witnessing how your ambitions can create opportunities to give back to fellow veterans, outdoor enthusiasts, and the greater community.

We believe the strongest veteran-owned businesses don't simply build brands. They build relationships, inspire others, and create a legacy of service long after the uniform comes off.

Congratulations, Ron! You've earned this recognition, and we're cheering you on every step of the way.

With love, faith, and unwavering support,

Chef Koko & The Makafigueroa Family Foundation

25 years later, we remember.

On September 11, 2001, our nation witnessed unimaginable loss—and extraordinary courage.

Today, The Makafigueroa Family Foundation honors the lives taken too soon, the first responders who ran toward danger, the service members who answered the call in the years that followed, and the families, survivors, veterans, and communities who have carried the weight of that day ever since.

For an entire generation, September 11 became more than a moment in history. It shaped lives, families, military service, sacrifice, and a legacy that continues today.

“Never Forget” is not only about those we lost. It is also about remembering those who are still here.

To every firefighter, police officer, EMT, military member, veteran, Gold Star family, survivor, caregiver, and loved one affected by 9/11 and its aftermath: we see you, we honor you, and we remember with you.

May we continue to choose service over self, compassion over division, and gratitude for those who stood—and continue to stand—for others.

In remembrance. In gratitude. In service.
— The Makafigueroa Family Foundation
