63 years ago, President John F. Kennedy speaks at the Las Vegas Convention Center on September 28, 1963. Photos include him arriving at McCarran Airport, pulling up to the convention center, and speaking in the rotunda. Governor Grant Sawyer, Senator Howard Cannon, and Senator Alan Bible are also pictured. This speech is part of an eleven-state conservation tour made by President John F. Kennedy. In his speech, the President commends the state of Nevada for its recent efforts to conserve natural resources, and proposes his administration's plan to preserve the natural environment, which consists of high quality education for children, natural resource conservation and development programs, and the promotion of peaceful international relations.

Step into Henderson's hippest neighborhood for a guided autumn stroll through the murals, buildings, and creative energy that define the Water Street District. This 90-minute walking tour weaves together public art and architectural history, offering a fresh look at a neighborhood that continues to evolve while honoring its roots.

Presented in partnership with the Nevada Preservation Foundation, the Art & Architecture Walk is a chance to see Henderson through a new lens.

The Henderson Historical Society invites you to join us for our next Henderson Speaks Lecture featuring Nevada historian Stanley W. Paher. Learn about the Las Vegas Valley's past with an introduction from former Clark County Museum Administrator, Mark Hall Patton.

Henderson Speaks is a free event and will be held on Wednesday, October 28 at CSN's Henderson campus with doors opening at 6pm. Books written by Stanley W. Paher will be available for purchase. Please see the flyer for more details. We look forward to having you there!

Please welcome NPF's new Interim Executive Director, Dr. Analiesa (Annie) Delgado!

From Dr. Delgado:
"My name is Dr. Analiesa (Annie) Delgado, and it is both an honor and a privilege to introduce myself as the Interim Executive Director of the Nevada Preservation Foundation.

Nevada is a place of remarkable history, shaped by diverse communities, bold ideas, and resilient people. I am passionate about preserving the places, stories, and communities that make our state unique. I recently earned my Ph.D. in History with a specialization in Native American History from UNLV, and I look forward to working alongside our members, partners, volunteers, and supporters to continue advancing NPF’s mission across the state.

Thank you for your continued support of the NPF. Together, we can ensure Nevada’s history is preserved and celebrated for generations to come."
