What are you leaving behind? And what are you willing to pick up?

In 2 Kings 2, Elisha watched Elijah be taken to heaven and then did something powerful — he picked up the mantle that was left behind. He did not idolize it. He did not put it in a shadow box. He carried it to the water and called out, "Where is the Lord God of Elijah?" And the water split.

Someone in your life may have left behind a legacy of faith. A praying parent. A godly grandparent. A mentor who walked closely with God. The question is not whether the mantle exists — It is whether you will pick it up.

James 4:8 reminds us to draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Humble yourself, and He will lift you up. The Lord is ready. Are you?
