A BIG Bark shoutout to Findlay Honda Henderson!

We are beyond grateful to have been selected to participate in Findlay Honda Henderson’s month long “Share the Love” celebration for February.

Throughout this month we are joining forces to provide blankets, port shirts, family style meals, and “Dogtor Deke” plush toys for children receiving treatment(s) at Las Vegas area hospitals (UMC Children’s Hospital, Sunrise Children’s Hospital, Cure 4 the Kids, and the Children’s Medical Center at Summerlin Hospital).

Everyone who donates will receive a “Thank You” card from our Ambassador Deke, as well as their first name and last initial on a colored heart to be displayed in the lobby of Findlay Honda Henderson.

Holiday miracles do happen!
Acesso Biologics (acessobio.com) has generously sponsored 500 Dogtor Deke Stuffy tote bags that will be provided to hospitalized children at four Las Vegas area hospitals. Each gift bag contains a stuffy, activities book, crayons, and holiday card - all with the intent of bringing comfort to children hospitalized during this holiday season. Our charming Ambassador Deke and his handler Rick, worked tirelessly to help make this happen, and we could not be prouder.
The Acesso donation of $14,000 proves that Corporate Sponsors are an integral piece of our non-profit endeavors. Our heartfelt thanks to Acesso Biologics and their entire team; we look forward to partnering on more initiatives in the future!

Last Saturday, with help from the Child Life Specialist Team, we hosted a holiday photoshoot for current and former patients of the Pediatric Oncology Unit inside Summerlin Hospital!

Our friend Linda Lakes Hamilton, with help from her elves, magically transformed the activities room and provided a "Winter Wonderland" photoshoot for each of the families in attendance.

Additionally, our friends at Acesso Biologics (acessobio.com) sponsored 50 Dr. Deke Stuffy tote bags, one for each patient and each of their siblings that took part.

Last but not least, Dom DeMarco's Pizzeria ensured everyone involved was fed by providing pizzas and salads for all the families and hospital staff members!

We had a vision to brighten the holidays for the children and their families; we could not have pulled it off without the help of our friends.

To Linda Hamilton, the team at Acesso Biologics, Dom DeMarco’s, and the entire staff at Summerlin Hospital, we say thank you!

No one fights alone…each of your contributions made for a magical and memorable day for patients, families, and staff alike.

On this Giving Tuesday, Bark for a Cause celebrates all of the generous donors who have aided us in our mission to provide comfort, happiness, and smiles to children hospitalized in Nevada and beyond through the delivery of blankets, plush toys and soothing interaction with therapy dogs. In September, Bark for a Cause launched a campaign close to all our hearts; supporting Team Super Benji and his family during Benji’s third battle with cancer. Our goal was to raise $5,000–$6,000 to help offset some of the Sanchez family’s expenses…what happened next was nothing short of incredible.

Artist John Heim stepped up and created a powerful illustration of Super Benji and his loyal sidekick, Deke, superheroes soaring above a children’s hospital ready to protect and uplift. We released 150 limited-edition, sequentially numbered prints, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the Sanchez family. Our friends at Beckwith Printing (beckwithprinting.com) generously reproduced all prints at no cost.

Then came an extraordinary act of kindness: Michael Aquino, CEO of Acesso Biologics (acessobio.com), reached out and personally pledged to match every print purchased or sponsored for the entire month of September. Because of this generosity, our ability to help Benji’s family instantly doubled.

We are thrilled to share that 116 prints were purchased or sponsored through early October, raising $5,800 through our amazing community. And with Michael Aquino’s full match, the total support delivered to the Sanchez family is an incredible $11,600!

This week, our ambassador Deke joined Michael Aquino and the Acesso Biologics team as they welcomed Benji and his mom, Azalea Sanchez, to their offices to present the campaign proceeds.

To every supporter, sponsor, partner, and friend: thank you. You’ve helped lift a family during one of their hardest battles, and shown Super Benji the army of heroes standing alongside him!

Bark for a Cause, Once Upon A Room LV - Summerlin , and Kindness Conquers, in collaboration with restaurant partner Dom DeMarco's Pizzeria & Wine Bar, are pleased to announce the “emBark Upon Kindness” Meal Project!

We’ve seen firsthand the difficulties families face when battling alongside a child that has been diagnosed with cancer. Our goal in developing the meal program is that for at least one night during their stay at the hospital, families can enjoy a meal together as they might in their own home.

Designed to feed four, families will select from two salad options (Caesar or Dom’s Garden Salad) and three entree options (18” two topping pizza, Spaghetti and Meatballs, or Baked Penne). Each meal package also includes a generous portion of Vegetable Medley (sautéed seasonal vegetables).

Recipient families simply complete a form in the hospital, place their order during the day, and that evening their meal is delivered directly to Summerlin Hospital (delivery charge and tip included).

Collectively we have funded the first 30 meals with the intent that these meals will provide comfort to the families we proudly serve. Meal program sponsorships in $50 increments can be made by visiting: barkforacause.org
