We are pleased to welcome Melissa Barker, CG®, Certified Archives Manager, Professional Genealogist, and "The Archive Lady." Melissa has worked at the Houston County, Tennessee Archives & Museum for the past 15 years and has more than 36 years of family history research experience. A sought-after speaker, educator, author, and book reviewer, Melissa presents genealogy and archival topics to audiences across the United States and internationally.

Presentation: Finding a Home for Your Family Archive

After spending years researching your family history, what will happen to your records, photographs, heirlooms, and digital files in the future? Melissa's presentation explores how genealogists can preserve their life's work by donating family archives to libraries, museums, archives, and historical societies. She will discuss how to assess and organize your collection, identify the best repository, prepare materials for donation, and navigate the donation process to ensure your family history remains accessible for future generations.

Whether you are just beginning your family history journey or have accumulated decades of research, this informative presentation will provide practical guidance for safeguarding your genealogical legacy.

Guests are always welcome! We hope to see you there.
