What a great Day at Vet Talks!⭐️

The students got to hangout, had some delicious tacos, a few got a chance to go on stage and speak on their experience at YLA, and the chance to pause and really listen to some very amazing stories.

8 veterans. 8 different places. 8 unique backgrounds. When they shared their stories, a powerful common theme emerged: they all started in a difficult place, but they chose not to stay there. They chose to keep moving forward—and that decision led them somewhere great. Different journeys, same message: where you start doesn’t determine where you finish.❤️

Join YLA for the opportunity to witness a few of YLA'S ELITE GRADUAT 🎓 as they "RANK UP" to the next level of leadership at YLA and into their futures!

At the end of each program, YLA has a graduation to celebrate each students accomplishments. "THIS" is not that.

Each of these "specific students" will have not only achieved and accomplished 1 PROGRAM but 3 SERIES of programs over 1, 2, 3, or 4 years.

They have put in the WORK to RANK UP to become mentors, leaders, and eventually heroes in our country.

Consistent practice become healthy habits.
Habits turn into a can do mindset, solid character trait understanding and application.
Character Traits become your moral compass, which leads to your ultimate value system.

Your VALUE system guides you through life, no matter what you choose to do.

This RANK UP is where "Starfish" turn into "Eagles"
And "Eagles" soar into "Guards"
Guards FORGE into Assistant Instructors or a career in the Police, Fire or Military - The ULTIMATE ACCOMPLISHMENT we strive for.

1st year Associates ( Starfish)
2nd year Bachelors (Eagles)
3rd year Masters (Guards)
4th Year Head Guard or Assitant Instructor positions. (AI)

Our 24 year historical statistics speak for themselves.

This year, 12 graduates of YLA programs entered the United States Marine Corps.
-1 is graduating today.
-1 is leaving in 17 days and
-1- swore in 3 days ago.

This is from YLA'S consistent path to leadership training. Not one a done program.

- 1 is currently Guard applying to the National Guard as we speak.
1-1 Guard is going into the Army
1-1 Guard is applying for EMT scholarships as we speak.

We don't just talk about our Path to Leadership, we have 24 years of statistics that prove our methodology works.
We track our students.
We know our students and their families.
We care about our students.

The changing of the Head Eagles & Guards will take place at Retreat Challenge 2027 in ceremonial fashion.

Today, we said "SEE YOU LATER" to this wonderful young man!

Midshipman Alex Ballard is a YLA 4 year Master Graduate, who comes every summer, from San Diego University (ROTC Scholarship) to assist YLA in Instruction, Drill, PT, and as a Intern in the office.

I have had the distinct pleasure of watching him grow, shine, and soar to new heights every year.

He has not only physically trained his team, he has laughed with them, studied with them and mentored each of them with Honesty, Respect, Peace, Kindness, and Humility. He truly embodies the YLA core values along with JJDIDTIEBUCKLE-E!

He is working towards being in Navy Special Ops. We absolutely believe he will accomplish this mission- just as he has for the past 4 years.

We will miss Alex and his brother, Aaron Ballard dearly for they have been a heartbeat of leadership this entire year. We can't wait to see them next summer because they ALWAYS come back! 😁

I am positive there will be more to share about him very soon - he and his amazing brother are the epitome of the leadership that we strive for at YLA.

🤝They always come back because we genuinely care about them and their futures!

We are so incredibly proud of you and your accomplishments! Such a wonderful motivator!

We can't wait to watch you continue to grow and SHINE into a United States Marine! 🇺🇲

We will be waiting for you at YLA to come back to mentor and INSTRUCTOR to these new Starfish and Eagles! 👏
