A heartfelt thank you to Kelly for organizing the boutique at our Transitional Living Home! 💕

Although many of the women in our TL program are now working or attending school, we still believe it’s important to provide clothing that helps them feel confident, prepared, and cared for. Having access to quality clothing is about more than appearance—it’s about dignity, opportunity, and continuing the journey of healing and restoration.

We’re so grateful for volunteers like Kelly who make spaces of grace and confidence possible.

Friday’s Welcome to Refuge orientation was such a gift. Around the table, we shared the call and the “why” that brought each woman here. Volunteering is born out of the heart…it’s compassion in action.

Our ministry is carried by women like these, who choose to step forward and give of themselves, making space for hope, healing, and restoration. Additionally, as our Refuge for Women community grows, we are reminded how crucial it is to love thy neighbor because God’s love is what transforms lives!

Debt bo***ge happens when traffickers manipulate or inflate debts for basic needs like housing, food, or travel, then force people to work under the false promise of repayment.

The reality is that these debts are designed to be endless, keeping victims trapped in cycles of control and exploitation. Debt bo***ge strips individuals of freedom and dignity while profiting those who exploit their vulnerability.

By learning and naming terms like debt bo***ge, we shine light on the hidden tactics traffickers use and move closer to breaking cycles of exploitation. Awareness is the first step toward prevention, protection, and restoration.

Isolation is one of the most painful parts of trauma. Many of the women we serve spent years surrounded by people, yet feeling invisible, silenced, and completely alone. That loneliness becomes a prison of its own, convincing them that freedom, love, and belonging are for someone else...not them.

At Refuge for Women, we believe no one should have to walk through healing in isolation. In our safe homes, women find community, support, and the reminder that their voices matter.
