Behind every great mission is a community of moms making it happen!

Our October YMSL Henderson Moms’ Meeting was filled with friendship, connection, learning, and a shared passion for raising young men who lead with character and serve with purpose.

We enjoyed a little fall hospitality, meaningful conversations, and valuable parenting insights from guest speaker Reilly Reid Hawkins | MS, MFT-I | , who shared ways to strengthen communication and connection with our teens.

We also learned about our upcoming Kindness Kits service project benefiting Street Teens, reminding us that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big impact.

Because YMSL is about more than volunteer hours. It’s about building friendships, growing together as moms, and creating meaningful experiences alongside our sons.

Interested in becoming part of our YMSL Henderson community?

We’re now accepting interest forms for incoming 9th graders, Class of 2031, through January 31!

Our YMSL boys recently traded their usual meeting spaces for two meaningful experiences focused on community, safety, and responsibility.

One class visited the Clark County Fire Department, getting an up-close look at the people, equipment, and environment behind our local emergency services.

Another class gathered at Pizza Rock Las Vegas 🍕🤘 , where a local officer led an important conversation about teen driving safety, responsible choices, and the impact of decisions made behind the wheel.

Two different experiences with one common purpose: helping our young men grow into informed, responsible, and community-minded leaders.

At Young Men’s Service League, it’s not just about giving back. It’s also about giving our boys the experiences, perspectives, and life skills that help shape who they become.

A big thank-you to our community professionals for investing their time in the next generation!

This Month in Service

From bowling and bingo with residents at Oasis Nursing & Rehab to helping at the Wolff Elementary Fall Festival, delivering meals to Street Teens, cleaning up Siegfried & Roy Park with Get Outdoors Nevada, and coming together for the Just One Project Spice Drive—our YMSL mothers and sons showed up for our community in so many meaningful ways this month.

Each project may look different, but the heart behind them is the same: mothers and sons serving side by side, building connections, creating memories, and learning the impact of giving back.

We’re grateful for every member who gave their time and energy this month and for the incredible organizations that welcomed us.

Asked them to describe YMSL in one word… and we love what they had to say.

Helpful. Cool. Awesome. Service. Charity.

Different words, one shared experience: young men showing up, giving back, building leadership skills, and learning firsthand what it means to serve their community.

That’s what YMSL is all about. Making an impact while raising the next generation of young men who understand the value of service.

What ONE word would you use to describe YMSL?

09/10/2026

More than a meeting. This is where service starts.

We kicked off a new year with a room full of moms and sons ready to connect, serve and make an impact together.

From collecting donations for Sleep in Heavenly Peace and The Just One Project, to gathering letters for Honor Flight Mail Call, to testing just how well our sons really know their moms (some definitely did better than others), our first meeting was the perfect reminder of what Young Men’s Service League is all about.

It’s service, leadership and giving back to our community, but it’s also something that feels especially meaningful during these teenage years: intentional time with our sons.

And yes, sometimes that means showing up dressed just like them.

We’re excited for everything ahead for YMSL Henderson this year.

If you’ve ever wondered what YMSL is all about or thought this might be something you’d love to experience with your son, follow along. There’s so much more to come.

Looking for more than another activity to add to your son’s high school schedule?

YMSL gives young men opportunities to develop leadership skills, build friendships, serve their community and discover just how meaningful it can be to give back.

And maybe one of the best parts? They get to do it alongside other young men who are learning and growing right along with them.

We are currently welcoming prospective members for the YMSL Class of 2031 — incoming 9th graders.

Know a family who might be a great fit? Share this post with them.
