Our thoughts and prayers are with the T***a family, Erasmo’s friends, Manhasset-Lakeville F.D., and all who knew, loved, and worked alongside him in the NYPD.
Erasmo’s dedication to service extended far beyond the uniform. He was someone who truly loved helping others and never hesitated to step in when someone needed him. In his career to name a few he carried injured fellow officers to safety, ran 10 blocks to help a stabbing victim, and while off duty, stopped at the scene of a motorcycle accident where he applied a tourniquet that helped save a life.
These moments speak to the kind of person Erasmo was — selfless, courageous, and committed to protecting and serving others, whether he was on duty or not.
His dedication to his fellow officers and his community will not be forgotten. May his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched find strength and comfort during this incredibly difficult time. 💙
