Katlyn Alix is being remembered following a tragic off-duty sh**ting incident in St. Louis that claimed her life at the age of 24. Authorities said the incident occurred early Thursday morning inside an apartment while Alix was off duty.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, two on-duty officers were present at the apartment when one officer reportedly mishandled a firearm, causing it to discharge and strike Alix in the chest. A call for “officer in need of aid” was later broadcast as officers transported her to the hospital.

The incident remains under investigation by the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office as officials continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the sh*oting. Authorities have released limited details while the investigation remains ongoing.
