Trixie was back at the vet today; after her round of antibiotics was over she continued to spike fevers in the evening, didn’t want to eat much, and was doing very pointed motions towards her mouth with her fingers acting like she was trying to rub a spot that hurt. After recording the motions and grinding sounds; the vet and us opted to do a facial CT scan because it would show the most detailed spots of infection; except Trixie’s facial CT showed no dental issues, her little mouth is as perfect as her. While she was under they went ahead and did a CT on her heart and lungs and an ultrasound on her kidneys, bladder and liver; everything looking great. We also re-ran bloodwork which showed her red blood cell count is still elevated some, and while sedated this time Trixie drooled a lot which pointed to her being nauseous. She was given an anti-nausea injection and a prescription of famotidine for 7 days to help treat a gastric ulcer. Let me tell ya, when the anti-nausea medicine kicked in the girl was ready to eat also! Here’s to being on the right path and getting her 100% back to herself!

Our sweet Trixie gave us a scare this week with not feeling well. Primates go down hill fast, which is why ours get checked over daily for new bumps, lumps or spots that might show up out of no where, or even the smallest change in personality or physical appearance.
We called our vet on Tuesday and let them know Trixie needed to be seen, and it was only 2.5 hours from that phone call till Trixie was in a room with bloodwork being ran and X-rays already done and two of her vets examining her, and we live just over an hour from the vet.
X-rays showed no pneumonia, bloodwork showed all her levels within normal ranges, but she was running a fever and you could tell looking at her she definitely didn’t feel good.
She has been on azithromycin for two days and you can definitely tell she is starting to feel better, with the spark in her eyes coming back.
She is still being watched close, but she is definitely getting her energy and spunky personality back. Thank you for all the prayers this week!
