🍦 HCHS Marching Band Ice Cream Social & Booster Meeting 🍦

All members of the 2026 Henderson County Marching Band and their parents are invited to join us on Tuesday, June 9 at 6:00 PM for our Ice Cream Social and Booster Meeting.

We will welcome our new Assistant Director, Mr. Andrew Steinsultz, discuss band camp, volunteer opportunities, and the upcoming competition season, and enjoy some ice cream together.

We look forward to seeing our marching band families as we kick off another exciting season!

This event is for all students participating in the 2026 Henderson County Marching Band and their parents.

We are humbled to participate in Henderson’s annual Memorial Day program this morning in Central Park.

As we play against the backdrop of white crosses, we honor those who have served and gone before us. We pause to reflect on the service of every Hendersonian represented in this hallowed memorial space — especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice — and their unwavering love for community and country.

May their legacy remain close to our hearts, inspire us to pursue unity each day, and help mold us into a more perfect union for future generations.

We remember yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Please help us welcome Mr. Andrew Steinsultz as the new Assistant Band Director for the Henderson County High School Band Program!

We are incredibly excited to add Mr. Steinsultz to our staff and can’t wait for our students and community to get to know him.

Mr. Andrew Steinsultz is a native of Newburgh, Indiana where he attended Castle High School and was a recipient of the John Philip Sousa award in 2020. After graduating in 2020, Mr. Steinsultz attended the University of Louisville where he earned his Bachelors of Music Education with Brass Emphasis in 2024 and his Masters of Music in Wind Conducting in 2026. While at the University of Louisville, he had the opportunity to perform at the 2022 World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles in Prague, Czech Republic, the 2023 Kentucky Music Educators Conference, and the Chicago International Music Festival in 2025. Mr. Steinsultz studied conducting with Dr. Amy Acklin and Dr. Frederick Speck while also studying trumpet with Dr. Reese Land. He worked closely with the Louisville Youth Wind Symphony where he was the manager and rehearsal assistant for two years while also being involved with surrounding high school band programs in the Louisville area. Mr. Steinsultz was recently inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda national music society and was a Graduate Dean’s Citation winner during his time at the University of Louisville.

This spring has been an incredible season for us, and our Fall season is already off to a strong start! The positive response from the Henderson community has us moving forward with renewed energy and focus as we continue building something special for our students.

Join the Marching Band Color Guard

Are you interested in performing, dancing, or being part of the visual ensemble that brings our marching show to life? We want you to be a part of our team!

No prior experience is required, and all students are welcome to attend clinics to learn more about the program and try out. We will teach you everything you need to know.

Clinics: May 11th & 12th | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Auditions: May 14th | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

The Henderson County High School Symphonic Band presents The Songs That Shape Us at 6:30 PM at the Preston Arts Center. Doors open at 6:00 PM.

This program features music inspired by folk traditions from around the world.

Congratulations to DeArion Stewart and all of the students who auditioned and were selected for the first-ever District 2 All-District Jazz Band on a fantastic concert today!

After only about five and a half hours of rehearsal, these students sounded like they had been playing together for years. An incredible display of talent, preparation, and musicianship. Proud of all involved!
