October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This month, the Brothers of Lone Star Lodge #85 proudly stand with the women, families, survivors, caregivers, and communities impacted by breast cancer.

Awareness is more than wearing pink—it’s about encouraging the people we love to prioritize their health, know their risk, talk with their healthcare providers about appropriate screening, and support those walking this journey.

We celebrate the survivors, honor the fighters, remember those we have lost, and stand beside every family affected.

As Masons, service extends beyond the walls of the Lodge. When our community hurts, we stand together. When someone needs encouragement, we show up.

Brothers of Lone Star Lodge #85 was honored to attend the Prairie View Volunteer Firefighters Annual Red & White Ball, celebrating four decades of dedicated service to the City of Prairie View, Texas, and communities throughout Waller County.

For 40 years, the men and women of the Prairie View Volunteer Fire Department have answered the call—protecting lives, serving families, and making a lasting impact throughout our community. We were proud to stand alongside them and celebrate this incredible milestone.

The evening was made even more special as our very own Senior Past Master and Right Worshipful Grand Senior Warden Frank Jackson was recognized for his outstanding leadership, service, and dedication to the Prairie View community.

Congratulations, RWGSW Jackson! Your commitment to serving others represents the very principles we strive to uphold as Masons and as men committed to our communities.

Lone Star Lodge #85 and the Tension Foundation would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our Back-to-School Drive a success! 🙏🏾

A special thank you to Hiram’s Trowel Lodge #662 - PHA and Heights Ionic Pride for coming together with us to assemble backpacks filled with school supplies for our young scholars. Your brotherhood and willingness to serve made a tremendous difference!

We also want to recognize the Prairie View Pan-Hellenic Council for partnering with us to serve the students and families of the Hempstead community. Together, we were able to provide:

🎒 School supplies & backpacks
🩺 Medical examinations
💇🏾‍♀️ Hair braiding
💈 Haircuts
❤️ And, most importantly, encouragement and support for our youth!

This is what community partnership and servant leadership look like. When organizations come together with a common purpose, we can make a lasting impact on the next generation.

Lone Star Lodge #85 is proud to partner with the Prairie View Pan-Hellenic Council (PV Greeks) for the 6th Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive!

As we prepare for another school year, we invite the Hempstead and Waller County communities to join us in supporting our students and families.

This event will provide free school supplies, complimentary haircuts, and access to medical resources and appointments to help students start the year with confidence and the tools they need to succeed.

Lone Star Lodge #85 proudly recognizes and supports Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. This month, we encourage our brothers, families, and the entire community to help break the stigma surrounding mental health by creating safe spaces for honest conversations, offering support without judgment, and reminding those who are struggling that they are not alone.

Seeking help is a sign of strength—not weakness. Together, we can build a healthier, more compassionate community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

THANK YOU!

On behalf of the Brothers of Lone Star Lodge #85, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who attended and supported our annual PM Joe Davis Memorial BBQ Cookoff.

Because of your support, this became our largest event to date, with 34 outstanding cook teams competing for top honors. More importantly, together we were able to award over $7,000 in scholarships to deserving students throughout Waller County, helping invest in the next generation of leaders.

Thank you to every cook team, sponsor, volunteer, vendor, judge, and guest who made this event such an incredible success. Your generosity and support continue to strengthen our community and make a lasting impact.

We are already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year!
