Please Pray!!
The Philippines is in need of much prayer.
In these past days, our nation has been carrying many burdens at once: confusion and disorder in leadership, communities suffering because of floods, long-unfinished road and flood-control projects, growing concerns over waste disposal, heartbreaking reports of crimes and killings, and now the very recent earthquake in Mindanao that has shaken homes, schools, families, and entire communities.
The magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck near Sarangani on the morning of June 8, 2026, with authorities expecting damage and aftershocks. Reports have also confirmed deaths, injuries, structural damage, class suspensions, and emergency response efforts in affected areas.
It coinsides with recent reports on the ongoing Senate gridlock and flood-control controversies that continue to trouble the public.
But in moments like this, the people of God are not called to respond with hopelessness. We are called to pray.
We pray for the grieving families, that the Lord would comfort them in their loss.
We pray for those injured, displaced, afraid, and uncertain, that God would preserve their lives and strengthen their hearts.
coincides
We pray for the students who were away from the comfort of their homes when the earthquake happened, that the Lord would calm their fears and surround them with protection.
We pray for rescue workers, medical teams, volunteers, teachers, local leaders, and communities responding on the ground, that God would give them wisdom, endurance, compassion, and safety.
We also pray for our nation’s leaders. May God give them humility, honesty, courage, and the fear of the Lord. May truth prevail over corruption, justice over abuse, responsibility over negligence, and service over selfish ambition.
We pray for our environment, our cities, our rivers, our roads, and our communities. May the Lord teach us to care for what He has entrusted to us. May He awaken in us not only concern, but responsibility.
This is not the time for apathy. This is not the time for division. This is a time to unite all the more in prayer, compassion, repentance, and action.
For we serve a God who listens. We serve a God who draws near when His people call on Him. We serve a God who is present in the flood, in the shaking, in the sorrow, and in the rebuilding.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
— Psalm 46:1
Lord, have mercy on the Philippines.
Heal our land.
Comfort the broken.
Expose what is hidden.
Strengthen what is weak.
Guide those who lead.
Protect those who suffer.
And turn our hearts back to You.
Let us pray for the Philippines.
