Through our ongoing partnership with Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) and their Youth Ecology Corp program, our young people get hands-on experience, real-world skill development, and a direct path toward meaningful careers.

Through our meaningful partnership with ARTERY by Michele Worth, our youth at CFLC learned how to sew pants out of pillowcases for the "Pants for Children in Africa" initiative! 🧵

This hands-on workshop taught our youth valuable new skills while allowing them to pour their hearts into a project that directly supports children in need across the globe. We couldn't be prouder of their care, dedication, and generosity.

🌟 Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders! 🌟

Our CFLC youth traveled our youth to Washington DC to advocate for the future of young people in our community! In addition to touring the Pentagon and exploring historical landmarks, our delegates sat down with public officials to share their stories about how Youth Opportunity Centers and non-profit support services have shaped their lives.

By opening up about their individual journeys, they showed leaders firsthand why investment in local youth resources matters. We are so proud of these courageous young leaders for standing up for youth in Riverside County!! 👏✨

Last Saturday, our CFLC job training youth had the opportunity to experience a hands-on learning day field trip (Roots to Rise) at Macala Orchards, in partnership with Healthy Valley Foundation. 🌱🫒

From exploring sustainable agriculture and harvesting fresh olives to learning the step-by-step extra virgin olive oil pressing process, our youth were fully immersed in the experience.

The hands-on day spark genuine excitement! Several of our youth even left inspired to explore future careers in agriculture and farming! 🤩

Sometimes life hits youth hard. Addiction, doubt, and moments of wanting to give up can make the future feel out of reach. But sometimes one mentor or one opportunity is all it takes to change everything.

Alex Lozano’s journey is a powerful example. Through his local Youth Opportunity Center in Hemet, he connected with mentors who helped guide him forward. Riverside County’s Youth Opportunity Centers support young people ages 16 to 24 with accessible employment and education resources. These centers help youth build essential skills through career readiness training, hands‑on work experience, educational support, mentoring, counseling, and opportunities for community engagement.

Last month, Alex was honored at the Jamil Dada Character Excellence Youth Awards for his perseverance and growth. He overcame significant challenges and set new goals to improve his life and uplift those around him.

Francisco’s journey has been shaped by the support and guidance he found at the Rubidoux Youth Opportunity Center. The program helped him strengthen his career goals and personal goals, giving him the experience and connections he needed to move forward. It also supported him through his internship, helping him gain real world skills and confidence.
