Rosie the Badger

Rosie the Badger Yes, that is a baby Badger! Meet Rosie! She's was around 5 weeks old at the time of her rescue in April 2017. She was around 5 wks old at the time of her rescue.

Rosie is an American Badger who was rescued by Second Chance Wildlife Rescue located in Price, UT. Her mother was most likely killed and her siblings have disappeared. Yes, now Rosie has her own page on FB. Please LIKE and follow it as she progresses through rehabilitation with the goal of eventual release. There are many people working to get her back out there where a Badger belongs. These posts

will continue until her day of release or if that cannot happen, placement into a educational facility

So Rosie has been released. Free at last as of last Tuesday. She was released in an area where Badgers are known to exist, just at a safe distance. I hope to be able to post a video once I receive it. She was the sole survivor of a litter that died after something happened to their mother. Be free little one.

So Rosie is at Best Friends/Wild Friends in Kanab, Utah. I'm hoping they will keep this page going. Rosie is doing well there but is very secretive as she is in a new environment. She is eating well and behaving as a Badger should, digging tunnels and burrows everywhere possible. I will remind their Rehabilitator there, Carmen, that she has fans waiting for an update. More to come.

Rosie is doing wonderfully with her rehabilitation. Her personality is showing more every day.

Rosie is becoming less social & prefers to do her own thing out of our sight in her den she has built underground.

Little Rosie is growing at a good & steady pace. Her natural instincts are be coming stronger every single day.

Rosie is now eating 100% on her own. She is getting mostly mice right now, eating 11-12 a day. I offered her raw shrimp the other day and she wanted no part of that........She wants to play very rough, something she would be doing in the wild, with her siblings. She's putting on weight and doing great.
