The Marvelously Made community is so proud of Jennifer’s leadership—not only within our own school, but also in the way she inspires and supports educators and schools beyond our community.
Childhood needs people willing to stand up for it. ❤️
Today, Jennifer McCarville had the honor of delivering the keynote address at the New Mexico Early Childhood Association Conference, sharing “The Courage to Save Childhood: 14 Commitments for Leaders.”
Her message was simple, but urgent:
Knowing what children need isn’t enough. We have to have the courage to protect it.
The courage to protect play when the pressure is for more academics.
To choose outdoor time, movement, creativity, relationships, and wonder.
To trust child development instead of rushing children to grow up.
To question practices that have become “normal” simply because they’ve always been done that way.
Every decision we make about a child’s day helps shape what childhood feels like.
The 14 Save Childhood tenets are more than ideas. They are a commitment to protect the childhood every child deserves.
Saving childhood will take teachers, parents, leaders, and communities standing together.
It will take all of us. And it will take courage. ❤️
