Dewey Fire Co. Annual Carnival

Dewey Fire Co. Annual Carnival The Dewey Carnival has been held since 1915 in Hellertown, Pa. This tradition continues on as an annual fundraiser for the local fire and EMS departments.

In recent years it has been held in Dimmick Park and has a night of fireworks. The first carnival night was held on October 2nd & 3rd 1915 and included an outdoor moving picture show. Our annual carnival continues to this day, and is still a major annual fundraiser for the Fire Company.

Many do not realize the amount of work behind the scenes to achieve a successful carnival. Two people who were instrumental in our success and worked tireless was Holly Molder and Alan Molder. When they heard we were lacking volunteers to make 2025 carnival a success they immediately reached out to offer planning assistance in early February. Holly and Alan brought new perspectives, new ideas, and helped us reinvent what we could achieve with the resources available. They attended every meeting and followed up on actions lessening the load of the carnival committee. The success we achieved was in large part from their guidance and ideas. We wanted to thank you both for stepping up when you didn’t have to.

We have received many requests on how to get involved for the 2026 carnival planning. By reaching out to us we can put you on a list and when we start the planning process we will invite you the meetings.

Picture for attention.

As the 2025 carnival has ended, we wanted to reflect and recognize community members, other fire companies, and some individuals who traveled from as far out as Delaware to help us out.

We wanted to give a shout to Williams Township Fire Company #1 members for their help in the pavilion many nights of carnival. It was a huge help having you there so thank you for your assistance!

A shout out to community members Lynley Solt and Chad Heimbecker who helped out in pavilion a couple of nights.

A shout out to Vyanna Young-Davis who spearheaded multiple fundraising initiatives for fireworks donations and helped staff the recruitment and retention table a couple nights.

A shout out to Peter McKeon for his help a couple nights in the pavilion.

A shout out to Mary Lou Young for her help with covering the recruitment table

A shout out to Lower Saucon Fire Rescue and Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Company for their coverage during Friday night fireworks.

A shout out to Eric and Mike (pictured with some Dewey personnel) who traveled from Philadelphia and Delaware to help us Saturday night in the pavilion. This is the first time they heard of Dewey Fire Co. and answered a call from a friend to help us.

And last, but not least, the Dewey Fire Co. personnel and their families for their help with carnival.

When we said in an earlier post that it takes a team; this is what we meant. A collective group of people to accomplish something special and amazing.

So we at Dewey thank you for all your help in making the 2025 carnival a success.

The fireworks are over, but that doesn’t mean all the work is completed. Here are three volunteers who came out early after working late this whole week to clean up the fireworks aftermath. It takes a team to pull off carnival every year and we could use your help to ensure we can keep it going! You do not need to be a firefighter to help out the fire company!

Thank you M & J Outdoor Services for donating the use of a lawn sweeper to assist in our cleanup efforts!
