Tonight, we proudly honor three of our outstanding providers; Matthew Baurkot, EMT; Allee Nolf, EMT; Evan Reese, PHRN. These dedicated professionals played a vital role in the successful out of hospital birth of a baby girl. They showcase, outstanding, teamwork, exceptional skill, and compassion in a stressful and high stakes moment. In recognition of their extraordinary efforts, LVHN has awarded the three providers Certificates of Achievement and the highly coveted Stork Pin. The stork pin as a symbol of prehospital obstetrical care.

Today Dewey EMS was recognized by Saucon Valleys 3rd and 4th grade Girls on the Run program. These girls wanted to thank us for everything we do as they felt EMS does not get the recognition it deserves. After a question and answer session we showed off some of our equipment and the girls treated us to some treats and some hand made gifts. We cannot thank you enough for recognizing us and giving us the opportunity to meet you all! Girls on the Run is #1 in our book!!

A big shout out and thank you to Modern Diesel Service for a 1 week turn around on 1385. 1385 suffered a catastrophic engine failure and John from Modern Diesel dropped everything to replace the engine with a brand new Ford crate engine. Unit 1385 is one of our front line medic units and it is now back in service. Dewey Fire Company Ambulance uses Modern Diesel for all our fleet maintenance and we couldn't be happier! Thanks again John!!!

It's with great sorrow, we announce the passing of our long time employee, mentor and friend John P Duffy Jr. John served our community faithfully as an EMT for many years as well as other surroundings communities. He was also a long time EVOC instructor teaching countless emergency providers safe and proper operation of emergency vehicles. The lives he's touched and saved cannot be counted as he devoted his life to the service of others. Please keep your thoughts and prayers with the Duffy family during this difficult time.
