To all the new families and residents moving into Helendale / Silver Lakes — welcome! 💛

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Carresha Skiffer, and I’m a community member here in Helendale/Silver Lakes, youth advocate and founder of Community Kids Workers a local nonprofit focused on empowering youth through mentorship, work experience, peer support, and positive community engagement.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with schools, children, teens, and families throughout San Bernardino County, including about seven years as a foster parent, as well serving as a Paraprofessional supporting children on the autism spectrum and those with special needs**, along with being a state-registered IHSS care provider, while also serving in youth leadership roles through my church and community programs.

I’m happy to also be one the newer local Girl Scout team leaders in our area.

My passion has always been helping young people grow, heal, build confidence, and find positive opportunities while helping strengthen the communities we live in.

If you're new to the area, welcome! Helendale/Silver Lakes has many wonderful families and community members, and I hope you quickly find a sense of connection and belonging here.
