For this year's campaign, we are focusing on raising funds to purchase a new Ginzu Groomer. Board members Larry Dolan & Valerie Kurth share how parts of the Ginzu work, and why the club needs to invest in a new one before the 2027 ski season.

The Ginzu is a crucial grooming tool, and it's how we resurface the trails and set the corduroy and classic track. The club would greatly appreciate your gift during Greater Helena Gives 2026 so we can make the most of our generous match funds!

Grooming update Saturday, April 4: “It’s a beautiful morning on Mac Pass, about 30 degrees and warming up. I’ve been grooming the skate lane, and setting track where the snow conditions allow. This could be our last day of grooming for the season.”

Update Friday April 3: “If you haven’t put your skis away yet for the season, we recieved 6” +/- of good snow on the pass. I have rolled out the access, upper and lower microwave, haul rd, little Porcupine, big pine, log cabin and Kelly hump. You’ll still have a fair amount of thin spots on big pine and thin and ice on the access to the outhouse. Unfortunately the utility folks drove up microwave with a track machine. If they don’t stay up to long ill be able to clean it up. Over all you should get a couple days of good spring skiing.”

Update Friday, March 27: "We still have good spring skiing on the pass. The Access, Upper and Lower Microwave, Haul Rd, Little Porcupine, Kelly Hump and Lower Log Cabin Trails have been freshened up. Classic track is still solid."

Update Thursday, March 26: "Don't put your skis away yet. We received 2"-3" of fresh snow on the pass. The access trail from the parking lot to the outhouse has some slushy spots. There's good coverage on microwave, haul rd and little porcupine. Classic track was set. Big Pine is a bit rough with uneven snow and plenty of thin spots. Overall, the base is soft but should firm up overnight. Good spring skiing to be had!"
