By courageously sharing her personal journey, Dr. Amy Stiffarm brought visibility to the realities many Native parents and families face and reinforced the need for culturally grounded maternal mental health support. Her story reflects the very reason Berry Medicine exists: to uplift Indigenous families through community-driven, Indigenous-led approaches to maternal health and wellness. This platform provides an opportunity to elevate Indigenous perspectives, increase visibility for Native maternal mental health, and advocate for Indigenous-led solutions, research, and programming.
While only a portion of her story was featured in this clip, Dr. Stiffarm also shared how a culturally centered program supported her healing journey, reinforcing the importance of care rooted in culture, community, and connection.
